Chronicles of a Small Industrialist Dreaming of Re-enchanting France – Episode 1: The Industry of the Future is Already Here!
That morning, on a Tuesday, under the lights of a brand-new factory, one thing became clear: the future is being written here, in France, and it carries the spirit of boldness and innovation. With Thibault Honegger and Florian Larramendy, we inaugurated NETRI’s factory, where they manufacture… organ-on-a-chip technology. Yes, you read that right. These microfluidic structures, lined with microscopic biological tissues and designed with surgical precision in PDMS, allow new cell therapies to be tested much faster, far more efficiently, and most importantly, without animal experimentation. What NETRI is doing in France today is a revolution. It’s unique.
It’s French!
Then, off to TECH&FEST, where the energy of French industry could be felt at every stand, in every conference. Thank you, Benjamin Coron. Thank you, Juliette de Sarnez. With Kévin Alessandri from TreeFrog Therapeutics, we talked about stem cells and France’s ability to take the lead in the bioproduction of the future. With Etienne Klein, Claudie Haigneré, and Sophie Sidos, we dreamed big, questioned the world, and outlined new perspectives. Because to reindustrialize France, we must first rekindle its imagination.
People often say that industry is in crisis, that France is falling behind. But those who were in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes this week know that there’s another story to tell. A story where groundbreaking technologies are being invented right here, ready to change the world. A story where factories are not relics of the past, but laboratories of the future.
So, to all those who hesitate, who are searching for meaning, who want to be at the forefront of technological and industrial revolutions: France is waiting for you. Industry is waiting for you.
Come! Join us!
Here, we dream big!
Long live La French Fab!
