At the end of 2010, I recruited Frédéric Briche to Maison MGA. He was to be our first Technical Director, patient 0, the man who saw the pangolin of technology! The aim was to build up a product development dynamic, create our first instruments and bring electronics and mechanics together. Mission accomplished – with panache, passion and… patience!

Frédéric has a taste for work well done, a twinkle in his eye when he sees a brushless motor, a Hall-effect sensor, a beautiful sterile connection or a clever magnetic system. It’s team spirit, good humour and an obsession with finding solutions. Without ever confusing objectives with means. The kind of colleague who makes you want to work harder, understand better, innovate further.

But Frédéric is also a man of perpetual motion: cycling, trails, bumps, waves, valleys, climbing walls…
and now… piano!

So to celebrate his departure for other adventures – Singapore, Bali, travel and transmission – we all gave him a score to learn. What was mine? Schubert’s Impromptu No. 3, as delicate and profound as his technical intuitions. Well, it’s clear that he’ll be at it for a while!
